Introductory workshop to Drupal 8 from a Front-end point of view, without programming. We will see in a practical way how to build websites from scratch, taking advantage of the new functionalities incorporated in the core of Drupal 8 and those contributed by other contributed modules.

The Front-End development in Drupal 8 encompasses all interface related technologies, which run on the client or web browser side. We can group these technologies into three languages, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Although these technologies are used as a base, we will see that there are other more advanced solutions that facilitate Front-End programming. For example, we will use SASS for the generation of CSS and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery.


This is a practical workshop, so you'll need to come with your laptop. The tools you need to bring pre-installed are:

  •   SFTP client (Filezilla or similar)
  •   IDE or programming editor (NetBeans, SublimeText or similar)
  •   SSH Client (PuTTY or similar)

The workshop is aimed at:

  •   Developers with knowledge of Drupal 8 who wish to deepen their knowledge of site layout and interface programming.
  •   Layout artists or designers who wish to apply their knowledge to sites developed in Drupal 8.
  •   Anyone who, without previous programming knowledge, wants to reorient their professional career towards programming and website development with Drupal 8.
